Yarmouth is a municipal district in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia.

The district forms the western part of Yarmouth County and uses the legal name The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth. It is one of three municipal units in the county, the other two being the town of Yarmouth and the Argyle municipal district.Yarmouth County is also home to the famous Sothwest Nova Studio's. Renown for their commercial work and sports photography.

In 2007, the Municipality of Yarmouth became part of a new travel region called "Yarmouth & Acadian Shores." The new region was oficially recognized by the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage and encompasses the Municipalities of Argyle, Clare, Yarmouth and the Town of Yarmouth.
