Before reporting any suspected open proxies here, please remember that not all vandals are open proxies, and vandals should not get an automatic check here. Also, please remember that it takes the volunteers here about 5-10 minutes to give a request a thorough check. The bot which clerks this page can sometimes detect if an IP is an open proxy, but can never confirm that an IP is not an open proxy.
This is a WikiProject, a collaboration area and open group of editors dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of a particular topic, or to organizing some internal Wikipedia process.
Please see the Guide to WikiProjects and the Directory of WikiProjects for more information.
If you've been blocked as an open proxy, please see Help:blocked.
The multiwiki MetaProject on open proxies seeks to enforce the prohibition against editing from open or anonymising proxies by identifying, verifying, and blocking open proxies and anonymity network exit nodes. To prevent abuse or vandalism, only proxy checks by verified users will be accepted. All users are welcome to discuss on the talk page, report possible proxies, or request that a blocked IP be rescanned.
Please report IP addresses you suspect are open proxies below. A project member will scan or attempt to connect to the proxy, and if confirmed will block the address. IPs blocked on Wikipedia but not on other wikis should be moved to the MetaProject. Please use this format:
While issuing a vandal warning, I looked at the talk page of the IP user, and at the top I saw an open proxy block message (date unknown), along with a declined unblock request from April (see User talk:196.207.35.245) - but the edit I reverted from that IP was made today, so, not sure if it was unblocked correctly or not. umrguy42 18:57, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Clerk note: A proxy scan report on 196.207.35.245 is available here. The end result was: Open proxy. ClueBot IV (talk) 18:58, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Not an open proxy Although there are open ports (554, 53, 80 and 21), none of them are proxies, as I've not been able to access any pages. PeterSymonds(talk) 19:11, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Blocked 2 weeks for disruptive editing, should be checked as proxy given who we suspect this is GRBerry 21:28, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Clerk note: A proxy scan report on 70.251.239.143 is available here. The end result was: No open ports. No proxy found. ClueBot IV (talk) 21:41, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
At first, I thought it was from one of these sites, but they lead to a different IP. Spellcast (talk) 15:17, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
I tried to do a nmap scan on this but the ports were filtered so I can't say this is an open proxy. --Kanonkas : Talk 21:46, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Inconclusive The same with me. PeterSymonds(talk) 08:44, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Clerk note: A proxy scan report on 76.91.72.239 is available here. The end result was: No open ports. No proxy found. ClueBot IV (talk) 15:49, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Proxies that do not seem to be open or anonymity network exit nodes should be listed here, rechecked at various times, and removed if still not conclusive.
Proxies that are proven to be open or exit nodes for an anonymity network should be blocked on the English Wikipedia, then should be moved to the "Blocked" section to be reported to the MetaProject in the next batch. Please strip notes not directly useful to a globally blocking administrator, or to a future rechecking administrator (signatures and templates are not necessary).
These requests are confirmed to be no longer open or anonymity network exit nodes. Once unblocked and the open proxy tag removed from their user pages, they should be moved to "Unblocked" below or posted directly to the MetaProject. Please strip notes not directly useful to a globally blocking administrator, or to a future rechecking administrator (signatures and templates are not necessary).
