West Point Lake is a manmade lake formed by the damming of the Chattahoochee River by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The lake extends for 35 mi (56 km) along the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama-Georgia state line. West Point Dam controls seasonal flooding. Deer and geese are often seen in the surrounding area.
