Water Stratford is a village and also a civil parish within Aylesbury Vale district in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located near the border with Oxfordshire, about three miles west of Buckingham.

The village name 'Stratford' is a common one in England, and means 'ford by a Roman road'. The Roman road is still traceable in the village. The prefix 'Water' was added to differentiate the village from other places called Stratford.

Notable Residents

Joseph Bosworth, scholar of Anglo-Saxon, was a churchman here, as was John Mason, early hymnwriter and proclaimer of The Second Coming of Christ. More recent ex-residents are Paul Daniels, magician, and Peter Woodthorpe, actor.
