Unforgiven is an annual professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment , which has been held in September since the 1999 edition. It originally started out as a In Your House pay-per-view event in April and featured the infamous Inferno match between The Undertaker and Kane . From 2003 to 2006, the events were exclusive to the Raw brand.

Val Venis defeated Steve Blackman (6:32)
Venis pinned Blackman following the Money Shot .
The Brooklyn Brawler was the referee due to the WWF officials being out on "strike" due to continuous assaults on them by wrestlers.
D'Lo Brown defeated Mark Henry to win the WWF European Championship (9:14)
Jeff Jarrett (w/Miss Kitty ) defeated Chyna by disqualification to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship (11:51)
Chyna was disqualified after Debra hit Jarrett with his own guitar. As a result, Jarrett retained the title.
Chyna had pinned Jarrett to win the Intercontinental Championship prior to the decision being reversed by referee Harvey Wippleman but Tom Prichard, the head referee, counseled with Wippleman to get his ruling changed.
The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw ) defeated The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von ) (7:30)
Faarooq pinned D-Von after interference from Stevie Richards .
Jim Korderas , the only WWF referee not to go on strike, officiated the match.
Ivory defeated Luna Vachon in a Hardcore match to retain the WWF Women's Championship (3:39)
Ivory pinned Vachon after hitting her with a wooden pole.
The New Age Outlaws (Mr. Ass and Road Dogg ) defeated Edge and Christian to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship (11:09)
Mr. Ass pinned Edge following the Fameasser .
The referee was non-striking official Jim Korderas.
Al Snow (w/Head ) defeated The Big Boss Man in a Kennel from Hell Match to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship (11:40)
Snow hit The Big Boss Man with Head, then escaped both cages to win.
X-Pac defeated Chris Jericho (w/Curtis Hughes ) by disqualification (w/Tom Prichard as special guest referee ) (13:10)
Jericho was disqualified after Hughes attacked the referee.
Triple H defeated The Rock , Mankind , Kane , The Big Show and The British Bulldog (w/Stone Cold Steve Austin as Special Outside Enforcer ) in a Six-Pack Challenge to win the vacant WWF Championship (20:28)
Triple H pinned Rock after a Pedigree .
The original referee was Jim Korderas, but the striking referees came down and attacked him. Austin took over as referee.
The British Bulldog was a replacement for the Undertaker, who had a groin injury before the event.

Unforgiven (2000) took place on September 24 , 2000 at the First Union Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania .[2]

Right to Censor (Steven Richards , Val Venis , Bull Buchanan , and The Goodfather ) defeated The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von ) and The APA (Faarooq and Bradshaw ) (6:04)
Venis pinned Bubba Ray after a Steven Kick from Richards.
Tazz defeated Jerry Lawler in a Strap Match (5:05)
Tazz made Lawler submit with the Tazzmission after interference from the debuting Raven .
Steve Blackman was the final winner in a 10-Minute Hardcore Battle Royal for the WWF Hardcore Championship where all the winners won the Hardcore Title. Also involved were: Test , Perry Saturn , Crash Holly , Al Snow , and Funaki (10:00)
Crash pinned Blackman while fighting outside (3:54)
Saturn pinned Crash after hitting him with a trashcan lid (4:06)
Blackman pinned Saturn (9:01)
Chris Jericho defeated X-Pac (9:03)
The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff ) defeated Edge and Christian in a Steel Cage match to win the WWF Tag Team Championship (13:33)
The Hardy Boyz won by escaping the cage after hitting a Con-chair-to on Edge.
Eddie Guerrero (w/Chyna )defeated Rikishi by disqualification to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship (6:03)
Triple H (w/Stephanie McMahon ) defeated Kurt Angle (w/Mick Foley as Special Guest Referee ) in a No DQ match (17:26)
Stone Cold Steve Austin was looking for who ran him down the year prior. Steve Blackman was accused by Shane McMahon of being the culprit, but it was just to get revenge on him from SummerSlam the month before and both ended up getting Stone Cold Stunners .
The Rock defeated Chris Benoit , The Undertaker and Kane in a Fatal Four-Way match to retain the WWF Championship (15:18)
Rock pinned Benoit after a Rock Bottom .
Chris Benoit had originally won the match after pinning the Undertaker, but the decision was reversed and the match was restarted since Undertaker's foot was on the rope and the referee didn't notice.
2001
Unforgiven (2001) took place on September 23 , 2001 at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania .
This was the first WWE Pay Per View after the September 11th attacks on America. In honor of 9/11 America the Beautiful was performed by Jennifer Holliday .
