The VL class are an Australian diesel electric locomotives operated by Chicago Freight Car Leasing Australia. Built by Avteq in Melbourne, they use EMD components and are based upon the Freight Australia XR class design. The VL class (along with the RL class) are still being delivered to service, and have been leased to operators such as El Zorro and QRNational.
