History

The airline was established and started operations in 2000.

VIM Airlines acquired Chitaavia and Aerobratsk at the end of 2004, and Russian Sky Airlines in 2005. It also shook up the market in 2004 when its new shareholders bought 12 Boeing 757-200 aircraft and invaded the charter arena. It was the first charter operator to use Western-built equipment in the local market1.

On 9 November 2006 Aviaprad started services between Yekaterinburg and Moscow using a newly acquired Boeing 757-200 jet leased from VIM Airlines 2
