Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol. 1 is a compilation album by Hikaru Utada, released on March 31, 2004. It features all of her hit singles to that date, including 11 #1 hits and all the 15 tracks reached Top 5. The album version was remastered by Ted Jensen.
It sold over 1.4 million copies in its deubt week[1], and became the #1 selling album of the year in Japan[2] (her fourth consecutive time accomplishing this particular milestone, a record for a group or solo artist in that particular territory), and was the 10th best-selling album of the year by a female artist worldwide as well as the twenty-eighth overall best-selling album of 2004 in the world, according to Media Traffic's year-end chart[3]. This is Utada's longest charting release on any Oricon chart, with a 2 year trajectory and still growing. Utada Hikaru SINGLE COLLECTION VOL.1 is the 35th highest selling album in Japan of all time [4].
