It is not a sock puppet, but rather an automated or semi-automated account for making repetitive edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually. |
MetsBot is used for template substitution, replacement, and addition, diacritical mark corrections, commenting out and removing deleted images, and various category tasks (renaming, moving, deleting, etc.). It will only run when it is initiated by Mets501, its owner.

This bot runs on the pywikipedia framework for a few tasks, AutoWikiBrowser for some, and C# for the rest.
