Trevayne is Robert Ludlum's fourth novel, published in 1973 under the pseudonym Jonathan Ryder (though later reissued under Ludlum's proper name). This novel is the only Ludlum novel without the word "The" in the title. Much widespread speculation surrounds this apparent slip in character by Ludlum however no official reason has been given as to the strangeness in titling.
