Pakistan Standard Time (PST) is the time zone for Pakistan. It is usually 5 hours ahead of GMT, though as of June 1 2008, it is 6 hours ahead due to the use of DST to help decrease the electricity load in the country.GMT/UTC (UTC+6).

Daylight saving time

In 2002, the government cabinet decided that "in order to make maximum use of daylight and to save energy", they would adopt the daylight saving time system. This required the country to advance the time by one hour on the night between the first Saturday and Sunday of April, and revert to the original position on the first Sunday in October of 2002 at 00:00.[1]

Pakistan is using DST again from June 1 2008 to September 1 2008[2].
