The Sunda Islands are a group of islands in the western part of the Malay Archipelago.
They are divided into two groups, with the Greater Sunda group being referred to much less than the Lesser Sunda. There is also the Sundanese culture of West Java.
The territory of the islands is divided between the present-day countries of Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
