Constitutional status of Kosovo
The districts of Kosovo (Albanian: Rreth, Serbian: Дистрикт, transliterated Distrikt) are the higher-level administrative divisions of both the Kosovo (UNMIK) protectorate and the partially recognized Republic of Kosovocitation needed, over the earlier territory (1990 to 1999) of the Serbian Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
Kosovo is further divided into municipalities (Albanian: Komuna). Under UNMIK administration (established in 1999), new districts in Kosovo were formed in 2000.
