This is a list of States and Union Territories of India by urban population estimated for the year 2001 by Census of India.
It is to be noted that this is a list of States by Urban Population, and not Urban Population Percentage. With the latter, the tables can be changed as drastically as Tamil Nadu being the most urbanised state of India, up from its current third place.
