The Chilean angelshark, Squatina armata, is an angel shark of the family Squatinidae found in the subtropical waters of Chile. Its length is up to 1.03 m, although the holotype is lost.
The Chilean angelshark holotype had very heavy thorns on the snout and between the eyes, and large spiracles. There was a double row of large hooked thorns on the midline of the back, right to the base of the tail, and enlarged thorns on the leading edge of the pectoral fins. It is found on the continental shelf and uppermost slope.
Coloration is redish-brown to grey above and paler below.
Reproduction is ovoviviparous.
