Special visceral efferent (SVE) refers to efferent nerves which supply muscles which derived from the branchial arches.[1]
Some sources prefer the term "branchiomotor",[2] or "branchial efferent".[3]
Examples of nerves that contain SVE fibers include the trigeminal nerve, the facial nerve, the glossopharyngeal nerve, the vagus nerve, and the accessory nerve.[4]
