Sleuth is a digital cable television channel with programming dedicated to the crime and mystery genres. In early 2008, the channel unveiled a new slogan: "Get Clued In." It is owned and operated by NBC Universal and is the latest addition to their line up of digital cable TV channels. It launched on January 1, 2006, replacing Trio. Sleuth debuted on DirecTV on June 1, 2006, and on Dish Network nine days later.

Sleuth features crime and mystery programming from NBC Universal's extensive library of feature films, classic television shows, reality series and documentaries. Programming initially included popular and cult television series like Simon & Simon, Miami Vice, The A-Team, Dragnet (1967 and 2003 versions), Knight Rider, The Equalizer, Homicide: Life on the Street and more recent cancelled series like EZ Streets, Karen Sisco, and Deadline. More recently, Sleuth has added programming from other studios, such as Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, and Sony.

Crime, mystery and suspense films like Scarface, The Jackal, Casino, Sneakers and Mercury Rising will be in the standard- and high-definition lineups, with at least 20 hours of content from the channels offered on demand at any given time to consumers.

In January 2007 Sleuth began airing Profiler, Magnum, P.I., The Rockford Files, Turks, and Medical Investigation.

On February 25, 2007, Sleuth aired a fourteen-hour movie marathon entitled "Chiller On Sleuth" to promote the launch of Chiller, NBC Universal's cable channel dedicated to horror programming that launched on March 1, 2007. The movies that aired during this marathon are Wait Until Dark, Psycho (1998), I Saw What You Did (the 1988 version), and The Island.1

New series for 2008 include Keen Eddie, New York Undercover, Robbery Homicide Division and Players. The original Knight Rider returns in September 2008.

Sleuth will add Oxygen reality series Captured and Relentless to its "Murder Monday" line-up in August. "Dateline on Sleuth" featuring true-crime stories from Dateline NBC will also be in the programming block.

On July 23, 2008 Variety reported that Sleuth, Universal HD, and Chiller are moving from Los Angeles to New York; when the channels movement is complete, Sleuth and Universal HD will report to USA Network, while Chiller will report to SCI FI.2
