Six Flags St. Louis (formerly known as Six Flags over Mid-America, initialized sfstl), is an amusement park owned by Six Flags, Inc. It is located in Eureka, Missouri, USA (in what was Allenton). Opened in 1971 as the third theme park of the Six Flags chain, this was the last park that was built under the Six Flags name.
A water park designed for families, Hurricane Harbor opened in 1999 adjacent to Six Flags, as a free water park available with admission to the theme park. The water park has many slides, pools, and interactive play areas. The Tornado debuted on May 28, 2005.
The park has received a brand new GCI wooden coaster called Evel Knievel, premiering on June 20, 2008.
Located in Gateway To The West (originally part of the France section).
One of two separate Arrow Mine Train roller coasters.
In 1984, the ride received a custom made Arrow Stand-Up trains and became known as Rail Blazer, however, it was a mechanical nightmare and caused a person to fall to their death during its first year as Rail Blazer. In 1985, the Stand-Up trains were removed and the ride was then reverted back to River King Mine Train.
Other Names - The River King Mine Train (1971), River King Run-Away Mine Train (1972 - 1983), Rail Blazer (1984).
Ride originally had 2 sides/tracks, one side/track removed during 80's, track shortened in 1999, lengthend in 2006. Ride was modified for the 2008 season.
