Sergei V. Bautin (born March 11, 1967 in Rogachev, U.S.S.R.) is a retired ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League for the Winnipeg Jets, Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks.
Bautin was drafted 17th overall by Winnipeg in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft and played 130 games for the Jets, scoring 5 goals and 25 assists for 30 points, collecting 176 penalty minutes.
On March 8, 1994, Bautin, along with Bob Essensa, was traded to the Detroit Red Wings for Tim Cheveldae and Dallas Drake, but reported to the Red Wings very out of shape, due to much tobacco-smoking.
He then signed on for the San Jose Sharks in 1995, but again played just one game (conditioning.)
He continued his career in Sweden, Germany and Japan before finishing his career in Russia.
