International Skip Day (or International Ditch Day) is a tradition in some American and Canadian high schools where (nearly) the entire senior class will excuse themselves from school on a pre-determined day. Most American school districts generally do not condone the skip day1 but punishment typically does not occur if the student has not exceeded the limit on unexcused absences. Some schools, however, impose administrative action on any student who has participated in a skip day.2
