A secretagogue is a substance which causes another substance to be secreted. One example is gastrin,¹, which stimulates secretion of gastric acid by the stomach.

Sulfonylureas are insulin secretagogues, triggering insulin release by direct action on the K_ATP channel of the pancreatic beta cells.

Angiotensin II is a secretagouge for aldosterone from the adrenal gland.
