CareerNevil's self-titled debut album in 1986 gave him a string of Billboard Hot 100 hits. He is best remembered for the song "C'est La Vie," a #1 dance hit that spent two weeks at #2 on the Hot 100 in early 1987. Between 1986 and 1991, Nevil recorded three solo albums, the self-titled first being the most successful. It was produced by Alex Sadkin and Phil Thornalley and recorded in England. Prior to this, he was involved in writing material for other Top 40 acts. In recent years, Nevil has been more involved in producing and writing for other artists than in solo performance. He co-wrote three songs on the chart-topping High School Musical soundtrack: "The Start of Something New", "We're All In This Together" and "I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You." He co-wrote the theme song to Hannah Montana, "The Best of Both Worlds", and co-wrote three other songs that appear on the Hannah Montana soundtrack album. Nevil's has been working with The Cheetah Girls, since their first album Cheetah-Licious Christmas, and wrote the songs The Party's Just Begun and Step Up to The Cheetah Girls 2 film and One World and Dance Me If You Can, from the soundtrack of The Cheetah Girls: One World. FamilyRobbie's mother Irene Nevil currently lives in Los Angeles, and father Charles Nevil, in Palm springs.
