Regius Professorships are "Royal" Professorships at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Dublin. The chairs were created by a monarch, and each appointment, save those at Dublin, is approved by the Crown.
