Prince Gustaf of Sweden and Norway, Frans Gustaf Oscar, Duke of Uppland, born June 18, 1827 at Haga Palace died September 24, 1852 in KristianiaNorway (the second son of Oscar I of Sweden and Josephine of Leuchtenberg). Prince Gustaf made a career as a composer, some of his works are still famous today, The Student Song (Studentsången) is sung every year by graduating students. From 1844 until his death in 1852, Gustaf was second-in-line to the Swedish and Norwegian thrones, during most of his father's reign.
