LocationThe Pazflor oil development located in center of Block 17 about 150 kilometres (90 mi) off the coast of Angola and 40 kilometres (25 mi) north-east of Dalia oilfield in depths of 600 metres (2,000 ft) to 1,200 metres (3,900 ft). It covers 600 square kilometres (230 sq mi) with a north-south axis of over 30 kilometres (19 mi).[1] Technical featuresThe Pazflor oil development will produce heavy crude oil from Miocene reservoirs, and lighter oil from the Acacia Oligocene reservoir. Drilling operations are planned to commence in 2009 and oil production is scheduled to start in 2011. The processing capacity of 200,000 barrels of oil per day will be ensured with 49 wells.[1] OperatorSonangol is the Block 17 concessionaire. Like other developments in the Block 17, the operator is Total S.A. with interest of 40%, and other partners are StatoilHydro (23.33%), ExxonMobil (20%) and BP (16.67%).[1] References
