Obowo, also spelled Obowu, is a Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria, and is headquartered in Otoko.1 Other towns in the LGA include Umulogho, Avutu2 and Umuokeh.3 Former Imo State Governor Sam Mbakwe was born in and died in Obowo.2 Obowo is located about 45 minutes from Owerri, the Imo State capital and less than 30 minutes, and right across the Imo river, from the Abia State capital, Umuahia.
