Oakwood Cemetery located at 200 South Leawood, opened on June 1, 1872 as the city cemetery of Parsons, Kansas, USA. Three hundred seventy-five Civil War veterans that came to Parsons as settlers are buried in a special section they bought in 1886 and named it Antietam Circle. This portion of the cemetery contains a gazebo and Civil War statues.
