O with diaeresis (majuscule:Ӧ, minuscule:ӧ) is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet now used in the Kurdish, Altay, Khakass, Mari, Udmurt, and Komi languages. It should not be confused with the letter Ö. Phonetic valueIn Kurdish, it represents the close back rounded vowel /u/. In Altay and Khakas, it represents the close-mid front rounded vowel /ø/. In Mari, it represents the open-mid front rounded vowel /œ/. In Komi, it represents the schwa /ə/. In Udmurt, it represents the open-mid back unrounded vowel /ʌ/. See also
