The Gozitan First Division, known as Onvol First Division for sponsorship reasons is the top level of the Gozo Football League. The league was first competed in 1937. In the Gozitan football system, there is one division under the First Division, that is the Second Division.

The Onvol First Division is based on three rounds, thus each team play each other three times, thus the teams in the First Division play 18 games each in total. The season is usually held between September and April. At the end of the season, the bottom club is relegated to the Second Division and the winner of the Second Division is promoted to the First Division. A promotion/relegation playoff game takes place between the 6th placed First Division team and the team placing second in the Second Division.

The majority of matches of the first division are played at the Gozo Stadium.
