Oğuz Abadan was born in Ankara in 1950. His music life began when he started playing the mandolin during his primary school years. At the age of twelve, he started to learn how to play the guitar. After playing along with several different amateur bands during his early youth, he carried on with professionals. He appeared on orchestras like Cemil Başaran's as the guitarist.
BiographyAfter completing his education at Ankara Gazi University, Music Department as a violinist, he went to the USA to study harmony at Berklee College. Later, he made music in several different countries in Europe. After working as professional bass player in Germany, he moved to France and there he joined Moğollar (Mongols) which was a Turkish band making music in Paris at that time. Returning back home, to Turkey, he started working at Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Urban Orchestra as the arranger/bassist. In the meanwhile, he carried on with his own orchestra, which he had set up bearing his name. In the following years he moved to Istanbul and has led his life and profession there up to today. He has conducted many orchestras in many counties and has carried out various concerts and studio works with many famous singers of the last 25 years. He makes film music and has two books published on music theory. He is the father of pianist Ayşegül Abadan and bassist Yağız Abadan.
