Nuuk Airport (or Godthaab/Nuuk Airport, Kalaallisut: Mittarfik Nuuk (the sole official name), Danish: Nuuk lufthavn), (IATA: GOH, ICAO: BGGH) is located 4 km (2.5 mi) northeast of Nuuk (Danish name: Godthåb), the capital of Greenland. It has a field elevation of 86 m (283 ft) above sea level. It has one asphalt runway (05/23) of 950 m (3,116 ft), equipped with Distance Measuring Equipment. The airport is closed on Sunday. Nuuk airport is operated by Air Greenland with De Havilland Canada Dash 7 and Sikorsky S-61. Air Iceland has also opened the first international route to Reykjavík in Iceland.
