Nushki (Persian نوشکی) is a small town and district of Balochistan. Nushki is situated on Durand line (Pak-Afghan border). The name "Nushki" came after the nine flour Chukees(watermill) on its (canal) called "joe-e-Nushkay". This city's major population belongs to Baloch tribes. The common languages spoken here are Balochi and Brahui (a dravidian language. Nushki was first connected to the railway network with India in 1905. The British government took over the control of the district from the Khan of Kalat in 1896.
