The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is split into four regions:
- Region I, headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, oversees the north-eastern United States.
- Region II, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, oversees the south-eastern United States.
- Region III, headquartered in Lisle, Illinois, oversees the northern mid-western United States
- Region IV, headquartered in Arlington, Texas, oversees the southern midwestern and the western United States.
Region I consists of 17 nuclear power plants.
