Notosuchia is a suborder of Mesoeucrocodylia that lived during the Cretaceous. It was a clade of terrestrial crocodilians that evolved a range of feeding behaviours, including: herbivory (Chimaerasuchus), terrestrial hypercarnivory (Baurusuchus), and omnivory (Simosuchus).
The evolutionary interrelationships of Notosuchia are in flux, but the following genera are generally considered notosuchians:
A recently discovered notosuchian from Brazil. The genus name was derived from the Adamantina Formation where its remains were found. Its skull was short, with large eye sockets, and jaws whose mechanics and tooth morphology suggest a wholly carnivorous diet.
