Tora Aasland is norwegian minister for research and higher education

Royal Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research (Norwegian: Kunnskapsdepartementet, lit. Ministry of Knowledge) is a Norwegian responsible for education, research and kindergartens. The ministry was established in 1814, and since October 18, 2007 led by Tora Aasland and Bård Vegar Solhjell (Socialist Left). The department must report to the legislature (Stortinget). Traditionally this ministry was also responsible for church affairs, but this function was transferred to the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs in 2002.
