Norton AntiBot is a software, developed by Symantec, for the detection of bots and other malicious threats. It monitors background processes and looks for malicious behaviour. The program's behavioral analysis technology is licensed from Sana Security by Symantec.
FeaturesNorton AntiBot monitors applications and processes running in the computer in order to detect and remove bots and malware that may be present. The application can be used in conjunction with existing security software. System requirements
A DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive and Internet Explorer 5.5 or above is also listed as required for installation of Norton AntiBot. However a download of the product can also be purchased direct from Symantec, which removes the need for a CD/DVD-ROM drive.1 Product activationThe product comes with a 15-day trial period, with the option of purchasing a 1-year product key. CriticismsNorton AntiBot can only monitor active processes, not dormant threats, since dormant threats have no behavior for the software to monitor. Therefore, dormant threats can only be removed when it is active. The program has also been criticized for not removing entire threats cleanly.2 References
