The Northlands Agricom, also known as simply The Agricom, is a 5,527-capacity arena, agricultural hall, and trade show hall located in Northlands Park in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, adjacent to Rexall Place.

History and Use

The facility was first built in 1984 on the site of the old Edmonton Gardens, and hosted the WHL's Edmonton Ice before that team moved to Cranbrook, British Columbia.

The Agricom hosts such major events as Edmonton's Capital EX, which all halls are used for multiple purposes including a food court, casino, and trade show.

Over 1600 more events are held at the Agricom annually, mainly different types of shows.1 Major events include the Edmonton International Motor Show, the Home and Garden Show, Youth Conference, and RV Expo.

Expansion

Renovations are currently taking place and are expected to finish by 2009. The completion of this will add over 200,000 square feet to the complex.

New features include:2

  • Four new exhibition halls
  • New conference area with meeting rooms and ballroom
  • New gallery spaces connecting the halls
  • A business centre
  • A food court with licensed services
  • Wireless internet access
