This Upazila's eighteen up population is 124473. Nangalkot has an average literacy rate of 30.2% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. [1]

Nangalkot has 11 Unions/Wards, 215 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 285 villages. Late, Zainul Abedin Bhuyan And Dr. Kamruzzaman they have developed this upazila at their leadership time. Ataur Rahman, (Chairman of Dhalua union, govt. officer as well) was one of the most educated personalities during the British raj in that Area. He was the Founder of Dhalua Bohumukhi Uccha Biddalay and Dhalua union Board office. Master Serazul Haque (Ex. Chairman, Doulkhar Union) was one of the vital parts of this institution & was the founder of Battaly A, Matin Uccha Biddalay as well. The most popular political leader of the upazilla, Zainal MP was the creation of chairman Ataur Rahman (Former Muslim League and Awamileague leader). . A good number of notable personalities of the country are also belonged to this upazilla.
