Naghadeh, (Persian: نقده, Azerbaijani: نقده, or سولدوز, Kurdish: نخده or نقده ), formerly known as Sulduz (سولدوز, also spelled Solduz or Suldoz) in is a city in northwestern Iran with 72,975 inhabitants according to the 2006 census [1], 23 km southeast of Lake Urmia about 1,300 metres above sea level. It lies in the West Azarbaijan Province.

Economy

The region economy greatly depends on agricultural products, also cattle and sheep are raised both for meat--lamb and mutton--and for wool, so enough meat - wheat - corn - and dairy products available to feed its own people as well as for export to people in other cities.

Region farmers also raise apples, grapes, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, peas, and other fruits. The high farm production results from the fertile soil and the use of modern machinery and scientific farming methods.
