Nacional Fast Clube, usually known simply as Fast is a Brazilian football club from Manaus, Amazonas state.

History

On July 8, 1930 1, Nacional Fast Clube was founded by Nacional Futebol Clube former members who were dissatisfied with the club. 2 Vivaldo Lima, former president of Nacional FC, was one of the founders. 3

In 1948, Fast won its first title 4, the Campeonato Amazonense, winning it also in the following year. 5

In 1970, the club won its only interstate title, the Copa Norte-Nordeste North Zone, finishing ahead of Tuna Luso of Pará state, both clubs with seven points. The club then finished in Copa Norte-Nordeste's final stage third position, behind of Sport Recife and Fortaleza.

In 1977, Fast finished in Campeonato Brasileiro Série A's 24th position, ahead of big clubs such as Internacional and Fluminense. 6

On March 9, 1980, at Vivaldão stadium, Fast played against famous United States club New York Cosmos. Carlos Alberto Torres, Beckenbauer and Chinaglia played for the American club. The 0-0 match had a 56,950 attendance, which is the stadium's current highest attendance. 7

Fast's stadium is Estádio Ismael Benigno, inaugurated in 1961, with a maximum capacity of 16,000 people. 8

In 2002, Fast played its home matches in Tefé city. 9

Mascot

Fast is nicknamed Tricolor (Tricolour) 12, Tricolor de Aço (Steel Tricolour), Tricolor Cintado (Belted Tricolour) and Filho do Nacional (Nacional's Son). 2
