Mike Cox (born 1961) is the 52nd Michigan Attorney General, having served since January 1, 2003. He is the first Republican in 48 years to serve as Attorney General of Michigan. He won re-election in 2006, defeating Democratic candidate Amos Williams, an attorney from Detroit. Current Michigan Governor, Jennifer M. Granholm preceded him as the state's 51st Attorney General.

As Attorney General, Mike Cox brought two assault charges against Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick after he assaulted two Wayne County Deputy Sheriffs who stopped by his sisters home to serve a subpoena on his cousin at which time Mayor Kilpatrick came out and assaulted the deputies. The case was turned over to Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy due to the politically charged atmosphere in Wayne County as a result of the other criminal case pending against Detroit's Mayor.
