Meteorite falls are those meteorites that were witnessed by people or automated devices as they moved through the atmosphere or hit the Earth, and were subsequently collected. As of May 2008, there are about 1,067 documented falls that are listed in widely used databases,^[1][2][3] most of which have specimens in modern collections.

Below is a complete list of the well-documented meteorite falls, showing the name of the meteorite, the date it fell, the place of fall, and the type of meteorite. Not included are meteorite falls referred to in the literature (e.g., Yao et al., 1994^[4]), but lacking enough evidence to have confidence in their authenticity.
