There may not be agreement on which countries may be considered Asian — this list does not include some of the countries about which there is commonly debate, such as Russia, Cyprus, Egypt, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Minor parts of Kazakhstan and Turkey which lie within Europe are included here. Cyprus, on the other hand, is normally included in Europe for political and cultural reasons, and is therefore excluded from this list, although it is traditionally considered part of Asia geographically. The three Caucasus states of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, although predominantly classified as Asian countries, too, are not included.
