HistoryThe Krombacher brand was founded in 1803 by Bernhard Schadeberg and has continued to be in the hands of the Schadeberg family for generations. LocationKrombach is a suburb of Kreuztal near Siegen, a small city in a part of Germany called Siegerland. Siegerland is located in the south east of the German state of North Rhine Westphalia. The small town of Krombach is located at the foot of the Rothaargebirge hills. This is the location where the natural spring water used to produce the beer is extracted, as well as the location of the Krombacher distiller. ProductsKrombracher Brewery produces the most consumed Pilsener in Germany[1], the Krombacher Pils. An alcohol free and a mild variant is also produced. Krombacher Radler is a mixture of 50% Krombacher Pils and 50% lemonade. Sind 2007, Krombracher brews Krombacher Weizen, a wheat beer, in response to market research.[2] Targeted at young adults, Cab is a brand of beer-based mix drinks. Initially meaning Cola and Beer, four variants are now produced: Cab Cola and Beer, Cab Lemon and Beer, Cab Energy and Beer, Cab Blood Orange and Beer. All variants are flavored with dragon fruit. Krombacher Brewery also produces Rhenania Alt, a dark beer and distributes Schweppes and Orangina in Germany. RegenwaldprojektIn 2002, Krombacher Brewery started a Rainforest campaign. It announced that for every crate of Krombacher sold one square meter of rainforest would be saved for at least 100 years. For achieving this, Krombacher Brewery partnered with World Wildlife Fund, famous german television host Günther Jauch promoted the campaign. The campaign was very successful, but was also criticised. In fact no rainforest was acquired by WWF or Krombacher. Rather, existing nature reserve were supported.
