The Nara Line (奈良線 Nara sen?) is a Japanese railway line of Kintetsu Corporation (近畿日本鉄道 Kinki Nippon Tetsudō?) (Kintetsu for short). The line is from Fuse Station in eastern suburb of Osaka to Kintetsu Nara Station in the historic city of Nara, but operationally trains start at Kintetsu Namba Station on the Nabma Line in southern downtown Osaka, runs on Osaka Line to Fuse. The eastern satellite cities such as Higashiosaka and Ikoma are along the line. Osaka and Nara have the shortest railway link among JR and Kintetsu lines. HistoryThe line was opened by the Osaka Electric Tramway (大阪電気軌道 Osaka Denki Kidō?). In 1970, the Namba Line was opened, and the operational starting station of the Line moved to Kintetsu Namba Station, until then Uehonmachi Station of Osaka Line. OperationTrains go direct to the Namba Line, and lead to Kintetsu Namba Station. Between Yamato-Saidaiji and Kintetsu Nara, trains of the Kyoto Line also run. On March 20, 2009, trains will run on the Nara Line, the Namba Line, and the Hanshin Namba Line (on the same day the Hanshin Railway Nishi-Osaka Line is renamed the Hanshin Railway Hanshin Namba Line, to extend to Kintetsu Namba Station). Express trains, Rapid Express trains, and Limited Express trains run between Namba and Nara. Semi-Express trains run between Namba and Yamato-Saidaiji in off-peak hours, and between Namba and Nara in the rush hour. Local trains run between Namba and Higashi-Hanazono, Namba and Higashi-Ikoma, or between Namba and Yamato-Saidaiji. Some local trains run between Namba and Nara. On March 21, 2006, Higashi-Hanazono Station became one of the stops of the Semi-Express trains, and the Suburban Semi-Express train (区間準急, Kukan-Junkyū) service started. Stations
