Jamshoro (Urdu: جامشورو) is a city in Jamshoro District, Sindh, Pakistan. It is located at 25°25'60N 68°19'60E on the right bank of Indus River, approximately 18 kilometres north-west of the city of Hyderabad and 150 kilometres north-east from the provincial capital Karachi[1]. It is virtually the gate-way to the Indus Valley, world famous for its civilization and rich cultural heritage. The Arnica Fort is located 40 km. to its north, in the northward continuation of the same hilly track which become Laki Ranges, merging with the Khirthars northwards. Amri, an important archaeological site, lies about 15 km. further north. Sehwan, a well known township lies 125 km. to the north of Amri. Mancher Lake the largest lake in Asia is situated to the northwest of Sehwan.
Besides being an historical site, Jamshoro is the biggest educational centre in Sindh, being home of University of Sindh, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, and Liaquat University of Medical Health Sciences, which produce doctors, engineers, IT professionals, journalists and other professionals every year.
