Jalgaon District (जळगाव) is a district of Maharashtra. It was formerly known as East Khandesh District. It has an area of 11,765 km², and a population of 3,682,690 (2001 census) of which 28.59% were urban. [1] It is bounded by Madhya Pradesh state on the north, and by the districts of Buldhana to the east, Jalna on the southeast, Aurangabad on the south, Nashik on the southwest, and Dhule on the west.
