Ibb (or Abb) (Arabic: إب‎) is a city in Yemen, the capital of Ibb Governorate, situated on a mountain ridge, surrounded by fertile land. It is located about 73 miles (117 km) north-east of Mocha. Ibb was governed by a semi-autonomous emir until 1944, when the emirate was abolished. The population is 160,000 (2005).

Ibb is also known for its rigid mountains and its tribes. One of the main known tribes are of Oad located in Jabil al-Oad. Its most famous leaders include Nagi Musaid Al-Madrahi, currently ranked as Lowa and Hazam Fadel.citation needed
