Glenkerry House is a housing block on the Brownfield council estate in Poplar, London designed by the controversial Brutalist architect Ernő Goldfinger. It stands 14 storeys high and in proximity to Balfron Tower and Carradale House, also by Goldfinger. There are four four-bedroom maisonettes on the ground floor, 17 one-bedroom, 45 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom flats; 78 flats in all.
Since 1979 it has been run as a leaseholdhousing cooperative. The council owns the freehold, and residents buy and sell the leaseholds of their homes from the council at half the district valuer's valuation. The building is managed by a committee of its tenants, and is widely regarded as a model for housing co-operatives of this type.1
Glenkerry House is run by its owner-residents; not tenants. All flats are privately owned by members of the Cooperative.
