The Ghanaian parliamentary election was held on 7 December2000. Presidential elections were held on the same day with a second round on 28 December2000. 62% of registered voters turned out for the elections. Over 98% of the votes cast were valid.[1]
Asutifi South constituency - 3 January2001 - Due to the death of Philip Kofi Adjapong Amoah, (NPP) candidate standing for parliament, the elections in this constituency were postponed. Cecilia Djan Amoah, the (NPP) replacement candidate, won the seat with a majority of 550.[2][3]
